David Jones bio
Wavy Gravy was right when he said if you can remember the late 70’s and early 80’s, you weren’t there. (I think he said this about the 60’s, too.) These years were, of course, my years with Cottonwood.
I moved from Pocatello to Boise in 1983 thus ending my career as a Cottonwood band member.
I left Boise in the fall of 1986 and moved to Phoenix, AZ where I am still living more than 18 years later. I met my wife, Wava Louise, in Phoenix and we have been happily married since 1987.
I enrolled in the music department at Glendale Community College during my early years in Phoenix. My classes included music history, music theory , composition and studio recording. In 1993 I organized an original music project called “The Fishing Market”. We performed around Phoenix for a year and produced recordings of six of my compositions.
Since then I have continued to work to support my hobbies of listening and playing music. I enjoy recording music in my home studio and have collaborated with Rockin’ Reggie Vinson, the co-writer of the Alice Cooper hit “Billion Dollar Babies”. We wrote a song together called “I’ll Kiss Away Your Tears” which was recorded in my studio this year. I still collect as much Beatles memorabilia as I can find, also.
P.S. I really do remember the Cottonwood years very fondly. These times are easy to remember because of the great music soundtrack.
